Professional Development

WE TAKE LEARNING SERIOUSLY

Your organization depends on professional development, from the board right through to your volunteers.  Do a quick analysis of your organzation's learning needs.

UPCOMING TRAINING

Lee is currently talking to organizations and potential facilitators/trainers for a variety of professional development topics including:

  • Community Leadership - how is it fostered, enhanced or deflated?  How is power recognized or ignored?  What do we really hope to achieve with this commonly stated programme goal?

  • Partnering with the private sector - what are potential private sector partners hoping to get from a partnership?  How do not-for-profits make initial contact, and in what form?  What myths, misconceptions and misinformation exist on both sides of the partnership and how can these be overcome?

Have an idea you'd like to develop into a training workshop or a facilitated session?  It's a great way to promote your skills or boost the profile of your organization.  Contact Lee to talk it over!

FAIR PRICE

Development Action training workshops have three pricing categories depending on the nature of your organization and the length of the day.  Note that the prices are for multi-stakeholder training events only, not for specialised in-house training which will require adaptation and refinement to meet your needs.

Prices include all taxes.

  • Not for profit: $70 to $195 per person, per day depending on the nature of the event

  • Public sector: $395 per person, per day

  • Private sector: not more than $595 per person, per day, but negotiable depending on size of company

You may want to explore financial assistance for professional development with your donors. They should consider your organization's upskilling a good investment. We'd be happy to help with the discussion.

OUR NITTY GRITTY FINE PRINT

Training workshops are generally 15 - 25 people, held in locations that are comfortable and as central as possible (without forcing prices up).  Lunch, coffee, tea and snacks are provided.

Please note that we cannot reimburse you for travel.  Overseas participants are encouraged, though they will have to organize travel, accommodation and visas themselves.

All venues are equal access.

Development Action's workshops require a minimum number of enrolements to run, and may be cancelled prior to the event if the required number is not met.  For this reason, delegates are encouraged to book and pay early.

On rare occasions, life intervenes, making the running of a workshop impossible (accidents, fires, illness of trainer etc.).  As a result, workshops may be postponed or cancelled at any time without prior notice.  In such cases, all money will be refunded, or if you wish, credit given to attend a future training event.  Participants must inform by email Development Action at least 24 hours prior to the date of the workshop if they are not able to attend.  Notice of non-attendance given under 24 hours will be invoiced for 50% of their fee.  No notice will result in 100% of the fee being invoiced.
